 Forklift Attachments Fargo - The city of Fargo, North Dakota has a present population of approximately 105,500 inhabitants and serves as the seat for Cass County. The city of Fargo is considered part of the Fargo-Moorhead, ND-MN Metropolitan Statistical Area, that services a population of about 209,000 people. The Statistical Area includes Moorhead, within the state of Minnesota, adjacent West Fargo, North Dakota and Dilworth, Minnesota.
Fargo is an educational, retail, cultural, manufacturing, and health care hub at the crossroads of southeastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota.
Fargo was once a popular stop for steamboats on the Red River. When Fargo was established during 1871, it was called "Centralia." Its later name, "Fargo," was in honor of William Fargo who served as director of Northern Pacific Railway and founded the Wells Fargo Express Company. The Railway brought prosperity to the town, that was called the "Gateway to the West".
Agriculture was until more recently, a major economic industry within the City of Fargo. These days, Fargo is more heavily dependent upon manufacturing, food processing, retail, technology, healthcare and education. The most important companies within the city include Sanford Health, Innovis Health, Microsoft, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Case New Holland and Swanson Health products. North Dakota State University is situated within Fargo and is the largest provider of public sector jobs. Fargo is considered by Forbes Magazine to be the 7th best small city within the US for starting a career or establishing a business.
Fargo supports cultural arts and with three are universities, they produce and host many theatrical events and productions, which are stages by Ursa major productions, Theater 'B', Fargo-Moorhead Community Theater, Music Theater Fargo Moorhead, Tin Roof Theater Company and a lot more. Musical events are never in short supply, due to the Fargo-Moorhead Opera, the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra and the Jazz Arts Group. The company Fargo-Moorhead Ballet produces dance events.
The Fargo Theater, is a 1926 Art Deco movie house that hosts first-run movies and film festivals. At the Fargodome, residents and visitors could enjoy Broadway musicals, concerts, dance, sports, and other public spectacles. A key local festival is the Winter Carnival, which has been held in Fargo ever since 1928.
