Local attractions include The McHenry Mansion, The Castle Air Museum and The Great Valley Museum.

The mild climate of Northern California makes the city of Modesto perfect for year-round outdoor recreation. Watersports such as houseboating, river rafting and boating are popular here. The region has excellent facilities for camping and golfing. Indoor recreational activities are offered for free at the big public skate park within Beyer High School. Yosemite National Park is less than one hour away.
