In the year 2006, the Bureau of Economic Analysis estimated Missouri's total state product was $225.9 billion. Missouri ranks 26th in the country, with a per capita income of $32,705 during 2006. The agriculture products of Missouri are beef, soybeans, pork, dairy products, hay, corn, sorghum, poultry, rice, eggs and cotton. The state of Missouri is ranked 6th in the US for the production of hogs and 7th for cattle. Missouri is ranked in the top five states within the US for production of soy beans. As of 2001, there were 108,000 farms, the next biggest number in any state after the state of Texas. Missouri actively promotes its wine industry which is rapidly growing.
There are large quantities of limestone in the state of Missouri, together with the other resources which are mined, comprising: crushed stone, lead and coal. Lead production in the state of Missouri leads all other US states. Most of the mines producing lead are situated within Missouri's central eastern region. Missouri likewise ranks first or just about first in the production of lime, a key component in Portland cement.
