Forklift Attachments Paterson

Forklift Attachments Paterson - Paterson (population 146,199) is a city within New Jersey. It is located between the Appalachian foothills and the Coastal Plain in the Piedmont region. The city serves as the county seat of Passaic County. It is the 3rd largest city in New Jersey and part of the New York City Metropolitan Area. New York City is 48 km towards the east. The city's population has decreased by 2 percent ever since 2000. The city of Paterson was a planned community, called "Silk City" because of the significance of silk production there during the late 19th century.

Paterson began sometime during the year 1792, through the work of a group of investors called the Society of Useful Manufactures (SUM). This group was focused on raising enough money to develop a planned industrial city that will be able to help the nation manufacture American goods and reduce the nation's dependence on foreign products. The city was to be planned around a waterfall, known as the Great Falls of the Passaic, that would provide power to new businesses to be constructed around it. Paterson was soon a reality, with many textile mills and other buildings springing up. It wasn't long before other industries, like railroad locomotive manufacturing, silk production and firearms, followed suit. Paterson became incorporated as a city during 1851, and the production of silk eventually became the main business. The city of Paterson enjoyed a prosperous industrial period, earning its nickname of "Silk City". After a destructive fire during 1902, Paterson's downtown had to be rebuilt.

Paterson has a unique attraction, an 1893 historic building called Lambert Castle. The Medieval Revival-style castle was the house of prominent silk mill owner Catholina Lambert. The Castle was turned into a Museum following a multi-million dollar restoration in the late 1990s.

Paterson is extremely ethnically diverse, and the yearly calendar is full of opportunities to celebrate. The whole summer, parades happen on the streets of the city, amongst them, an African-American Day Parade, a Dominican Day Parade, a Puerto Rican Day Parade and a Turkish-American Day Parade. Paterson's Peruvian community has a Peruvian Day Parade and 10-day festival in the month of October known as "El Seņor de los Milagros" (or "Our Lord of Miracles").

Paterson's downtown center features numerous architectural landmarks with many Beaux-Arts-style buildings. These buildings are normally quite big, but are usually no more than seven stories high. The commercial district of Paterson was once frequented by shoppers from all over the norther part of New Jersey. Two of Paterson's architectural landmarks are the Paterson City Hall and the Passaic County Courthouse Annex.
