 Forklift Attachments West Valley City - The 2nd biggest city in Utah, with a population of 129,480 as of the 2010 census, is West Valley. West Valley is a suburb of Salt Lake City and is located in the county of Salt Lake. Before it was incorporated during the year 1980, the area comprised four separate communities: Hunter, Granger, Chesterfield, and Redwood. Maverik Center and the USANA Amphitheater are situated within the city of West Valley.
The first known inhabitants of the Salt Lake Valley area, are the Shoshoni and Ute Native American tribes.
Dan Jones and the Welsh latter-Day Saints arrived in the area sometime in 1849, settling within the Granger region. Irrigation systems were developed during that time that help spur the growth of the agriculture sector. Elias Smith proposed the name of the region due to it's successful farming. Occasionally, farming was made near impossible because of the high alkali content. During the year 1884, the Latter-day Saints split their group into two and formed a separate Granger Ward.
The communities of Hunter, Granger, Redwood and Chesterfield quickly joined forces in order to form West Valley City. The campaign was successful to the extent that it convinced the court system of the court to order a disincorporation election that took place three months after the city of West Valley was incorporated. The election was really close, with just 72 votes which decided the outcome of the city of West Valley. In the last 20 years, West Valley City has thrived and continues to grow and prosper.
The city of West Valley hosts numerous music and cultural shows within the Utah Cultural Celebration Center within the city of West Valley. One more famous attraction is the E Center, which was constructed during 1997 and played host to the 2002 Winter Games. The Hale Center Theatre, the Rocky Mountain Raceway and the USANA Amphitheatre are a few of the other attractions that are situated within West Valley City. Salt Lake City also has various attractions, including Ballet West, that is one of the leading ballet companies within America, the Off Broadway Theatre, which is renowned for its comedy shows, the capitol Theatre, which is home to Utah Opera Company and was built in the year 1913 and Wheeler Historic farm, that is home to a historic farm house. Some of the various famous places in the area are the Clark Planetarium, the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, Trolley Square, Heber Valley Historic Railroad, Lagoon Amusement Park, Utah's Hogle Zoo, Utah Opera Company; The Utah Symphony; Sandy City Amphitheater; Salt Lake Art Center, Fort Douglas Military Museum, The Children's Museum of Utah, Pioneer Memorial Museum, Utah Museum of Fine Arts, the USANA Amphitheatre and Utah Museum of Natural History.
