Forklift Attachments Kent - The city of Kent, Washington serves a population of roughly 120,000. The city of Kent is the 3rd biggest city within King County and is a suburb of Seattle. The population has recently grown, but due mostly to annexation, not to an influx of new inhabitants. Towns close by include Auburn, Federal Way, part of Covington towards the South, unincorporated King County, Des Moines, Sea Tac and Federal Way towards the west, Renton and Tukwila to the north, and Covington towards the east. Mt. Rainier can be seen to the southeast.

The city consists of three distinct parts: East Hill, the Valley and West Hill. The Valley is home to the cities downtown core. The city has a total area of 73.2 km2, of which 0.6 km2 is water and 72.6 km2 is land. The city has the 2nd biggest warehouse district within the country. The Green River runs north through Kent on its way to Puget Sound. The East Hill area has a big lake called Lake Meridian.

The Kent area was initially called Titusville when it was originally settled by European-Americans during the early part of the 1860s. A 'Titusville Station' sign could still be seen on Gowe St. The production of hops was a major source of income during the 1880s. In Europe, an aphid infestation had destroyed hops crops, boosting the value of hops from the Puget Sound region where hops were shipped by river or rail transportation from Titusville. A local aphids invasion finally brought at end to the production of hops within the valley. Titusville was given a different name, after the County of Kent in England. Kent was incorporated as a city during 1890 with a population of 793.

The city of Kent is home to the headquarters of corporations like for example Oberto Sausage Company, Seattle bicycle Supply and REI. There is a Boeing plant located in the city. The once-fertile valley is presently covered with various warehouses due in part to Kent's role as a hub for transportation routes. The expansive warehouse district is used for regional distribution by companies like for example General Electric Appliances and Whirlpool Corporation.

The city of Kent has just undergone a revitalization drive with the development of the Kent Station and the ancillary shopping area.
