Forklift Attachments Beaumont - Beaumont is situated within the Beaumont-Port Arthur Metropolitan statistical area and currently has a population of around 118,000. It is Jefferson County's county seat and with the cities of Orange and Port Arthur it creates the Golden Triangle, which is an essential industrial area on the Gulf Coast.

The city of Beaumont sits around 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico and is located on the coastal plane south of the dense pine forests of East Texas. On the east border of Beaumont City is the Neches River and on the north border is the Pine Island Bayou. Initially, the city of Beaumont was criss-crossed by some small streams but as the city developed the majority of them were converted or filled for drainage reasons. Trinity Island is located directly across from Riverfront Park, and the other three islands around the downtown area are named Clark, Harbor and Smith.

In 1824, Noah and Nancy Tevis first settled within the area when they constructed a farm on the west bank of the Neches River. A small community began to grow around the farm utilizing the name of Neches River or Tevis Bluff Settlement. Joseph P. Pulsifer, Thomas B. Huling and Henry Millard purchased the small community together with the nearby community of Santa Anna during the year 1835 with the objective of planning a town. It was named after the late wife of henry Millard, Mary Dewburleigh Barlace Warren Beaumont, who passed away during the year 1834.

Lamar University is located within Beaumont City and presently hosts roughly 15,000 students. The city's daily newspaper is The Beaumont Enterprise, and The Examiner is published once a week.

The Port of Beaumont represents a significant element of the region's economy. It is presently the biggest seaport by Tonnage and the second largest military seaport in the world. Stationed at the port are both the 596th Transportation Group and the 842nd Transportation Battalion.

Within the city of Beaumont, there are several businesses which have their head offices here. Conn's Appliances and Jason's Deli are currently amongst the largest. The Sweet Leaf Tea Company headquarters was first situated within Beaumont City but relocated to Austin during October 2003. Until it's absorption by Entergy Corporation during the year 1993, Gulf States Utilities likewise had its head office there. GSU's Edison Plaza remains the tallest building within the city.

Since 1907, the city of Beaumont has hosted the South Texas State fair and has just relocated this exhibition to a new location within Ford Park.

Within the city of Beaumont, the top employers consist of Beaumont Independent School District, Conn's Appliances Inc., Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital and Memorial Hermann Baptists Hospital.
